9 October 2020: The Authority published it third legislative review of the Emissions Reduction Fund.
The Authority is required to review the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF) every three years under the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011(Opens in a new tab/window)).
The Authority’s recommendations build on:
- the Government's response to the Report of the Expert Panel examining additional sources of low cost abatement (Opens in a new tab/window)(the King Review)
- the Government's first Low Emissions Technology Roadmap(Opens in a new tab/window)
- new Government funding for the Clean Energy Regulator to speed up ERF method development and project registration times
- the Authority's recent research reports, Prospering in a low-emissions world: An updated climate policy toolkit for Australia, and Economic recovery, resilience and prosperity after the coronavirus.
