Prospering in a low-emissions world: An updated climate policy toolkit for Australia

This research report updates the Authority’s 2016 report, Towards a Climate Policy Toolkit: Special Review on Australia’s Climate Goals and Policies on policies for meeting Australia’s emissions reduction commitments under the historic Paris Agreement.

Published date: 31 Mar 2020

The report presents 35 recommendations to help transition Australia to a low emissions future, building on the Government’s current climate change policy settings to drive down emissions in the transport, industrial, electricity, agriculture and land, and waste sectors.

The Authority emphasises that Australia’s future prosperity will be best served by participating in strong global action to reduce emissions and preparing for the changes in our climate already locked in.
