Updating the Authority's advice on meeting Australia's Paris Agreement commitments
Consultation is open until 23 August 2019 on the Climate Change Authority updating its previous advice to Government on policies to meet Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction commitments under the Paris Agreement.
Input on the three stocktakes
On 11 July 2019, the Climate Change Authority released its stocktake of drivers for, and actions by, industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Australia, including new and emerging low emissions technologies.
On 8 March 2019, the Climate Change Authority released its stocktakes of Australian and international climate change policies. The Authority welcomes input on the accuracy and reliability of the information contained in them and any relevant additional information.
This information can be provided as part of a submission to the Authority on updating advice to the Government or it can be provided separately. On 31 July 2018, the Climate Change Authority released a consultation paper on its operational review of the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting legislation.
Review of the National Wind Farm Commissioner
The Minister for the Environment and Energy, the Hon Josh Frydenberg MP, has asked the Climate Change Authority to conduct a review of the role of the National Wind Farm Commissioner.
At the time the National Wind Farm Commissioner was established, the Government said it would review the role in 2018. This review responds to that undertaking.
Review of the Carbon Farming Initiative legislation and the Emissions Reduction Fund
On 31 August 2017, the Climate Change Authority released a consultation paper Review of the Carbon Farming Initiative legislation and the Emissions Reduction Fund.The Authority is required to review the CFI and the ERF every three years.
Towards the next generation: delivering affordable, secure and lower emissions power
The Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC) and the Climate Change Authority prepared a joint report, Towards the next generation: delivering affordable, secure and lower emissions powerand invited submissions from interested parties. The AEMC and the Authority also drew on submissions received in response to the Independent Review into the Future Security of the National Electricity Market (the Finkel Review) and the Authority's Special Review completed in 2016.

On 9 March 2017, the Authority released the issues paper Action on the land: reducing emissions, conserving natural capital and improving farm profitability. Submissions were invited from interested parties.
Draft report on Australia's climate policy options
Comparing emissions reduction policies for the electricity sector
As part of its Special Review, the Authority is using modelling to help compare a range of illustrative policies for reducing electricity sector emissions. The Authority consulted on the proposed approach to the modelling.
Australia’s future emissions reduction targets
The Climate Change Authority released the first draft report of the Special Review in April 2015, and invited submissions from interested parties. The Authority also drew on submissions received in response to the Authority’s March 2015 call for comments.
Carbon Farming Initiative Review
The Climate Change Authority released its review of the Carbon Farming Initiative on 22 December 2014.

The Climate Change Authority released its second review of the Renewable Energy Target on 22 December 2014.

The Climate Change Authority released the final report of its Targets and Progress Review on 27 February 2014.
